Basketball Recap: Mckinney North Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Preston Spolar and Kaeler Impelman

McKinney North is still winless after their game against Rock Hill on Monday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Blue Hawks. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

Despite the defeat, McKinney North had strong showings from Kaeler Impelman, who posted 19 points, and Preston Spolar, who shot 71% from the field on his way to 14 points. Spolar has also been stellar as far as field goal percentage is concerned: he's posted one of at least 46% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ethan Ewans, who put up five points and five assists.

McKinney North's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Rock Hill, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Looking ahead, McKinney North won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wylie at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rock Hill, they will take on Midland in a tournament on December 4.
