Basketball Recap: New London Comes Up Short

New London was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Mapleton Mounties 66-38. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Mounties from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

New London's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Mapleton, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New London has already played their next contest (against Plymouth), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mapleton will head out on the road to face off against St. Paul at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in St. Paul's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Mapleton has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
