Volleyball Recap: Ironwood Ridge Comes Up Short

Ironwood Ridge's tournament run continued when they took on Peoria on Saturday. The Nighthawks fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1. The Nighthawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ian Dahl paced Ironwood Ridge's offense, picking up nine kills. Dahl got some help from Corbin Crosby and his 19 assists. Dahl was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Among those leading the charge was Jakarai Robinson, who had 13 digs and two assists. That's the most assists he has posted over his last eight matchups. Elijah Morales also deserves some recognition as he had his first blocks of the season.

Ironwood Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Peoria, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.

Ironwood Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Sahuaro on the 1st. As for Peoria, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Deer Valley on the 1st.
