Soccer Game Preview: New Summerfield vs. San Augustine

The New Summerfield Hornets will face off against the San Augustine Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

New Summerfield is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Gladewater on Monday. Neither New Summerfield nor Gladewater could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Christian Hernandez was the only thing that stood between New Summerfield and a shutout considering he scored both of New Summerfield's goals, bringing his season total up to four goals.

Meanwhile, San Augustine's and Pollok Central's matchup on Tuesday was close at halftime, but San Augustine turned on the heat in the second half with three goals. San Augustine was the clear victor by a 7-3 margin over Pollok Central. The high-scoring effort was just what Wolves needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

San Augustine now has a winning record of 2-1. New Summerfield's draw makes their record 2-0-1 this season.
