Basketball Recap: Sumter County Comes Up Short

Sumter County lost against Hardaway last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Sumter County Panthers took a blow against the Hardaway Hawks, falling 67-36. The match marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Hardaway's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mikayla Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhianna Boynton, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 14 boards.

Sumter County's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Hardaway, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.
