Soccer Recap: Standing Bear Takes a Loss

Standing Bear was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Norris Titans who were credited with the win. The Norris Titans got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Standing Bear Grizzlies' four. One reason for the loss might be Standing Bear's aggressive play style: Matthew Browning and Calvin Schwartz were both handed yellow cards.

Standing Bear's goal came courtesy of Browning, which was the first he's scored this season.

Standing Bear's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Norris, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Standing Bear will challenge rival Waverly at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Norris is set to face off against their familiar foe Hastings at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
