Volleyball Recap: Loveland Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Mountain Vista + How To Watch

Loveland faced Mountain Vista in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Red Wolves came out on top in a nail-biter against the Golden Eagles, sneaking past 3-2. This was payback for the Red Wolves, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Loveland took Mountain Vista into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 27-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-11.

When it comes to explaining why Mountain Vista lost, don't look at Anna Morella. Despite the final result, she had 36 digs. Morella is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Schmidt, who had ten digs and three aces.

Loveland is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. As for Mountain Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-8.
