Softball Recap: Clinton County Comes Up Short

Clinton County had taken Russell County down for five straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Bulldogs fell 7-4 to the Lakers. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lakers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Clinton County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Russell County, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Russell County will be playing at home against Monroe County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Clinton County will be paying especially close attention to the Lakers' game: after the Lakers face off against the Falcons, they'll take on Clinton County again at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday.
