Baseball Recap: Tombstone Has No Trouble Against Parkland

Tombstone had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Parkland on Friday. The Tombstone Yellow Jackets were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over the Parkland Matadors.

Tombstone got a great performance from Miguel Rincon as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. What's more, Rincon gave up only zero hits, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Erik Koehler was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Hank Moody was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Tombstone always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parkland only posted an OBP of .200.

Tombstone now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Parkland, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7-1 record this season.

Tombstone has already played their next game, a 13-13 tie against Flowing Wells on the 1st. As for Parkland, they will head out to take on Andress at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkland is facing Andress at the right time seeing as Andress is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
