Recap: Calvary Christian Knights vs. Carver Tigers

After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last five contests, the Calvary Christian Knights finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 88-22 loss at the hands of Carver. While losing is never fun, Calvary Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 348th, while Carver is ranked 50th).

Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dylan Walls, who scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Tj Benson, who scored 5 points along with 5 rebounds.

Tony Montgomery had a dynamite game for Carver, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 13 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Montgomery has scored at least 25% of Carver's points. Champ Simpson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 3 steals.

Calvary Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Carver, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calvary Christian will take on Wiregrass at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Carver, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Upson-Lee at 5:00 p.m. on December 2nd.
