Volleyball Recap: Wiggins Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Wiggins couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 3-0 to the Simla Cubs on Saturday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Cubs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Tenleigh Lorenzini paced Wiggins' offense, picking up seven kills. Lorenzini got some help from Kallie Green and her 11 assists.

Simla found their leader in sophomore Ava Leininger, who had 20 digs and three assists. Leininger is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Wiggins' defeat dropped their record down to 22-9. As for Simla, the victory was the 21st in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-2.

Wiggins does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Simla, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Sedgwick County on the 15th.
