Softball Recap: Timpview Drops Season-High Score on North Sevier

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Timpview). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 win over the North Sevier Wolves on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Thunderbirds have posted since March 8, 2024.

Halia Aumua was a standout: she got on base in four of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Natalie Burgin also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Timpview hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Sevier struck out six times.

Timpview's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-14. As for North Sevier, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

Timpview will head out to take on Wasatch at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Sevier, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Delta at 3:30 p.m. The Rabbits have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.48 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
