Softball Game Preview: Crestview Bulldogs vs. Paxton Bobcats

Crestview and Paxton are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Crestview Bulldogs will face off against the Paxton Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Crestview's offense. They came up short against Navarre on Thursday, falling 8-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Crestview saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Copeland, who went 3-for-4 with one double. The dominant performance gave Copeland a new career-high in hits. Moriah Keith also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Meanwhile, Paxton made easy work of Baker on Friday and carried off an 11-1 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Bobcats have posted against the Gators since April 14, 2017.

Crestview now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Paxton, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Crestview has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Paxton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Crestview's way against Paxton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Crestview made off with a 14-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crestview since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
