Baseball Recap: False River's Losing Streak Snapped at 14 Games

False River had to endure a 14-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Family Christian Flames on Tuesday as the False River Gators made off with a 20-13 win. The Gators' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Dylon Gentile was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Matthew Gradfeo, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-6.

False River's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-15-1. As for Family Christian, they dropped their record down to 10-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, False River will face off against St. John at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Family Christian, they will challenge Maurepas at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Family Christian has given up an average of 6.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
