Logan Young commands the offense for Pirates win

Recap: Dover Pirates vs. Lamar Warriors

Even though the Dover Pirates have not done well against the Lamar Warriors recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Dover managed a 54-50 win over Lamar. The win was familiar territory for Dover who now have three in a row.

Dover's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Young, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Young is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played. Kenzie Mccrotty was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.

Dover's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Lamar, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dover will challenge Central Arkansas Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Arkansas Christian is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Lamar, they will head out on the road to square off against Baptist Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arkansas (Baptist Prep is ranked 43rd, while Lamar is ranked 21st).
