Volleyball Recap: Altoona Comes Up Short

Altoona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Carlisle Thundering Herd, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thundering Herd this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in March.

While Altoona ultimately came up short, they really made Carlisle work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 27-25, 25-10.

Altoona's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Carlisle, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Altoona wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Central Dauphin East on the 15th. As for Carlisle, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Northeastern on the 12th.
