Volleyball Recap: Leia Minardi and Claire Tibbals Secure Win for Academy of the Holy Names

It's playoff time, and Academy of the Holy Names had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Winthrop College Prep Academy Spartans on Monday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Jaguars as they're now sitting on three straight.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Academy of the Holy Names took every set by at least 15 points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-10, 25-8.

Academy of the Holy Names was led to victory by Claire Tibbals and Leia Minardi. Tibbals had six aces and four digs, while Minardi had 14 assists and two aces. That's the most assists Minardi has posted over her last five matchups.

They weren't the only good servers: Academy of the Holy Names was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Academy of the Holy Names' win bumped their record up to 17-9. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Academy of the Holy Names has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Berkeley Prep on the 14th. Winthrop College Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
