Recap: Rock Hills Grizzlies vs. Washington County Tigers
The Rock Hills Grizzlies had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Washington County, posting a 40-0 win at home. The victory was just what Rock Hills needed coming off of a 58-6 loss in their prior contest.
Rock Hills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cooper McDill led the charge by rushing for 33 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 129 yards and a touchdown. Aaron Sterling made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Rock Hills' victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Washington County, their loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rock Hills will take on Decatur Community at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Decatur Community is ranked 64th, while Rock Hills is ranked 76th). As for Washington County, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Stockton at 6:00 p.m. Stockton comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
