Baseball Recap: Grace Christian Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Grace Christian had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Hickory Grove Christian Lions. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Matt Murchison was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Jimmy Alfonsin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Grace Christian's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Hickory Grove Christian, they moved to 12-13 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Grace Christian will host Gaston Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Crusaders surely won't give up without a fight. Hickory Grove Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
