Baseball Recap: Tokay Tigers vs. Lodi Flames

Tokay started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Lodi. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lodi Flames on Wednesday. Tokay has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brock Sell put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off ten hits. Sell has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Sell was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Blake Goen was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

On Lodi's side, Slade Schmidt looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
