Basketball Recap: Luis Acosta's Big Game Can't Quite Lead ASU Prep over South Pointe

ASU Prep lost against South Pointe last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The match between the ASU Prep Sun Devils and the South Pointe Griffins didn't end well, with the ASU Prep Sun Devils falling 65-48.

ASU Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luis Acosta, who posted 13 points. David Cabral was another key player, putting up ten points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Pointe to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lee Reed, who scored 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zyion Brown, who had 17 points.

ASU Prep has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for South Pointe, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-9.

ASU Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Pointe, they will take on Learning Foundation & Performing Arts at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Learning Foundation & Performing Arts knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully South Pointe likes a good challenge.
