Volleyball Recap: West Jordan Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for West Jordan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past the Hunter Wolverines 3-0 on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Jaguars: when they faced off against the Wolverines back in March, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

West Jordan walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-7, 25-17, 25-20.

Among those leading the charge was Marshall Handy, who had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most aces he has posted over his last six matchups.

Despite the loss, Hunter still got an impressive performance from Mervyn Vera, who had 26 digs. Vera is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 16 or more in each of the last three games he's played. Peyton Hendrickson also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.

West Jordan's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8. As for Hunter, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-10 record.

West Jordan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Taylorsville on the 24th. As for Hunter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Cyprus on the 24th.
