Volleyball Recap: Andrew Jackson's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Andrew Jackson can bid farewell to their four-match losing streak thanks to their match on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Riverside Generals as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Andrew Jackson was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-4, 25-12, 25-13.

Andrew Jackson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alayna Brewer led the charge by getting nine aces and one block. That's the most aces Brewer has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachel Mendoza, who had 11 aces.

Andrew Jackson's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-15.

Andrew Jackson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Global Outreach Charter Academy on the 3rd. As for Riverside, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Westside at 6:30 p.m.
