Football Game Preview: Willow Canyon Wildcats vs. Cactus Cobras + Official Tickets

The Willow Canyon Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Cactus Cobras at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Willow Canyon has given up an average of 29.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Willow Canyon is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They took a blow against Sunrise Mountain, falling 40-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 51 points the game before, Cactus was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They came up short against Yuma Catholic, falling 30-7.

Despite the loss, Cactus saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nathaniel Linares rushed for 73 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries, and also picked up 47 receiving yards.

Cactus didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Donta Sutton and Aiden McCoy.

Cactus' defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Willow Canyon, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Willow Canyon couldn't quite get it done against Cactus when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as they fell 21-14. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
