Basketball Game Preview: Empire Bulldogs vs. Healdton Bulldogs

The Empire Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Healdton Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Empire has four straight wins, Healdton has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Saturday, everything went Empire's way against Fletcher as Empire made off with a 58-34 victory. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Healdton took a blow against Velma-Alma on Friday, falling 61-20. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 469th, while the Comets are ranked 116th).

Healdton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Empire, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Everything came up roses for Empire against Healdton in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 77-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Empire since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
