Basketball Recap: Faribault Takes a Loss

After flying high against Albert Lea last Tuesday, Faribault came back down to earth. The Faribault Falcons came up short against the Owatonna Huskies on Thursday, falling 61-40. The Falcons have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Leading Owatonna to victory were Maryn Pool and Jersey Coleman. Pool went 6 for 9 en route to 16 points and four steals, while Coleman went 7 of 11 on her way to 15 points and six rebounds. Pool has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexie Klecker, who posted six points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Faribault's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Owatonna, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.

Faribault will challenge Northfield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Owatonna, they will take on Mayo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
