Basketball Recap: Lake Region Thunder vs. George Jenkins Eagles
Lake Region was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 48-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the George Jenkins Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Thunder of the 71-63 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2022.
Several Thunder players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christopher German, who posted ten points. German also posted a block, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lynkon Ricks, who had nine points.
George Jenkins got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kordel Hilliard out in front who went 6 for 7 en route to 15 points. Lake Region's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for George Jenkins, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-7.
Lake Region wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 76-42 loss against Lakeland on the 16th. George Jenkins has also already played their next match, a 100-40 defeat against Tampa Catholic on the 15th.
