After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Covenant Christian Academy, Newman was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Marie Philip Galloping Ghosts as they made off with a 3-0 victory. Newman hasn't had any issues with Marie Philip recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Newman was: they took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-15, 25-11.

Newman's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Marie Philip, they moved to 6-3-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak.

Looking ahead, Marie Philip will challenge Rhode Island School for the Deaf at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Newman will be paying especially close attention to Marie Philip's contest: after Marie Philip faces off against American School for the Deaf, they'll take on Newman again at 3:15 p.m. on the 21st.
