Basketball Recap: Allen East Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Allen East had won three straight games and Rilynn Jones did her part to make it four on Saturday. The Allen East Mustangs blew past the Fort Jennings Musketeers 71-48 thanks in part to Jones, who went 11 for 24 on her way to 30 points along with eight boards and eight steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Evelyn Lehman, who posted 19 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Allen East pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 31.5% in those games and 32.3% outside of them. As for Fort Jennings, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Allen East will head out to challenge Bluffton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Allen East is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season. Fort Jennings has already played their next match (against Ayersville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
