Baseball Game Preview: McComb Tigers vs. Richland Rangers

McComb is 0-10 against Richland since March of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The McComb Tigers will host the Richland Rangers at 6:00 p.m. McComb has given up an average of 17.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

McComb is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 25 runs back in February, they were much more limited against Lawrence County last Friday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 16-1.

Kenmar Page made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Richland, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Benton Academy 7-6.

Christopher Bobbitt made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Richland's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-6 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Bryce Shows was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

McComb's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Richland, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
