Soccer Game Preview: Sylacauga vs. Valley

The Sylacauga Aggies will face off against the Valley Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sylacauga has seven straight victories, Valley has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Sylacauga's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against White Plains by a score of 2-0. Two seems to be a good number for Sylacauga as the team scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Valley's offense. They came up short against Russell County on Friday, falling 3-0.

Sylacauga pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four matches. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Everything went Sylacauga's way against Valley when the teams last played back in March, as Sylacauga made off with a 5-0 victory. Do the Aggies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
