Baseball Recap: Copiague's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

After a string of four wins, Copiague's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northport Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 10-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Steve Falco was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Copiague is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Aidan Roman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

Copiague's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Northport, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season.

While Copiague had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
