Preview: Sunnydale Academy vs. Christian Fellowship
Sunnydale Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on Christian Fellowship at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Back in December of 2023, Sunnydale Academy took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 53-25 win over Heartland Christian Academy. Given Sunnydale Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Heartland Christian Academy is ranked 515th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Christian Fellowship entered their tilt with Liberty Christian Academy with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Christian Fellowship claimed a resounding 60-30 win over Liberty Christian Academy on the road. With that win, Christian Fellowship brought their scoring average up to 50.2 points per game.
Ariya Barton and Brooke Grathwohl were among the main playmakers for Christian Fellowship as the former scored 16 points along with seven assists and six rebounds and the latter scored 27 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Grathwohl continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Kate Bradley, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Sunnydale Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Christian Fellowship, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
Everything went Sunnydale Academy's way against Christian Fellowship when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as Sunnydale Academy made off with a 61-37 win.
