Goddard faced Melrose in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Rockets were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Buffaloes. The victory was nothing new for the Rockets as they're now sitting on six straight.

Viviana Varela was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 14 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last seven contests. Tatum Boone also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Goddard's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Melrose, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.

Goddard didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Portales on the 27th. As for Melrose, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Texico on the 27th.
