Annapolis Area Christian hadn't beaten Glenelg Country on the road since April 22, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Dragons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since May 7, 2024.
The team relied heavily on Roman Cobb, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Noah Beall was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Severn School's record is now 10-1. As for Annapolis Area Christian, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Severn School has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Annapolis Area Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Severn School came out on top in a nail-biter against Annapolis Area Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Admirals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
