Baseball Recap: Oneida Indians vs. Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders
Oneida was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Highlanders earlier this season, when they won 6-2.
Gabe Brennan was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over six innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Brennan wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carter Daugherty, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
