Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Perry Meridian

Perry Meridian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Greenwood Woodmen by a score of 9-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-1 on Wednesday.

Jackson McDaniel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aiden Kerr, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Alex Acosta also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Perry Meridian's record now sits at 5-7. As for Greenwood, they dropped their record down to 4-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Perry Meridian will take on Greenfield-Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenwood, they will square off against Southport at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
