Softball Recap: Sparta Comes Up Short

Sparta had taken Strafford down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. Sparta lost 21-9 to Strafford. The Trojans' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Norah Stallcup was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Paisley Phillips, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Sparta's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Strafford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sparta will square off against Gainesville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Strafford, they will venture away from home to challenge Springfield Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
