Softball Recap: Mission San Jose's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

There's no place like home for Mission San Jose, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the American Eagles on Wednesday. The contest marked the Warriors' most dominant win of the season.

Hailey Pan made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Aria Gokani and Anjali Singh did most of the damage at the plate: Gokani went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Singh went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. Those two doubles gave Gokani a new career-high. Emma Lee was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Mission San Jose always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mission San Jose moved to 3-12 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for American, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-17.

Looking ahead, Mission San Jose will square off against Washington at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. American has already played their next game (against James Logan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
