Softball Game Preview: Sioux Central Rebels vs. Northwest Webster Cougars

Sioux Central is 8-2 against Northwest Webster since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Rebels are taking a road trip to face off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Sioux Central earned an 8-4 win over Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, while Northwest Webster put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for South Central Calhoun. The Cougars put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 17-0 win. The Cougars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Northwest Webster's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-3. As for Sioux Central, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Sioux Central took their victory against Northwest Webster when the teams last played back in June of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
