Basketball Recap: Hadassah Brown's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Waukegan over Marist

It was a good run, but Waukegan unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 63-49 to the Marist RedHawks. The Bulldogs were down 53-32 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hadassah Brown, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. Brown has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Madison Johnson was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Waukegan suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 8-4. As for Marist, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waukegan will challenge Libertyville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Libertyville will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Waukegan surely won't give up without a fight. As for Marist, they will face off against St. Laurence at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
