Basketball Recap: Daeshawn Fiore's Big Game Can't Quite Lead East over Northwest

On Saturday, the East Tigers came up short against the Northwest Indians and fell 73-61. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 431st, while the Indians are ranked 151st).

East lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Daeshawn Fiore, who posted 21 points. Fiore's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Aaron Britford was another key player, putting up 16 points.

This is the second loss in a row for East and nudges their season record down to 6-4. As for Northwest, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the East Tigers face off against the Columbus International Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northwest, they will head out to square off against Manchester at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Manchester has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
