Softball Recap: Fresno Christian Eagles vs. Minarets Mustangs

Fresno Christian extended their losing streak to nine on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 4-15 in the process. They came up short against the Minarets Mustangs, falling 10-2. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Minarets, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win they have posted against Fresno Christian since May 12, 2016.

For Minarets' part, Addison Lafferty spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 15 Ks. Those 15 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Lafferty.

At the plate, Linden McDougald was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Rios, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs.

As of now, neither Fresno Christian nor Minarets have any future games scheduled.
