Columbine is 6-1 against Chatfield since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rebels will head out on the road to face off against the Chargers at 7:30 p.m. Chatfield took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Columbine, who comes in off a win.

Columbine took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They breezed past Denver South to the tune of 41-7. The Rebels pushed the score to 41-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Ravens cut but never quite recovered from.

Columbine's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lijah Vialpando, who rushed for 61 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and also caught one TD. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Vialpando a new career-high. Columbine also got a significant boost from Mark Snyder, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 137 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Columbine was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 284 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 224 rushing yards in six consecutive games.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Columbine's defense and their five sacks. Denver South's QB won't forget Ayden Rubio anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

Meanwhile, Chatfield was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 28-27 to Arvada West. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Wildcats are ranked seventh).

Columbine will have to keep a close watch on Cash Williams and William (Roni) Rohlman, a pair of players who had a big impact on Chatfield's prior game. Williams threw for 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Rohlman picked up 77 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Columbine's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.3 points over those games. As for Chatfield, they now also have a losing record of 4-5.

Everything came up roses for Columbine against Chatfield when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 42-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
