Softball Recap: Washington Has No Trouble Against Clover Park

Washington's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Clover Park Timberwolves as they made off with a 24-0 victory. That 24 run margin sets a new team best for the Patriots this season.

Steve-Rae Garcia-Zamora made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Washington got a massive performance out of Dee Moore, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Moore has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Harmony Steenhard, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one triple.

Washington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Washington's record now sits at 5-3. As for Clover Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Washington wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 11-1 win against Orting on the 17th. As for Clover Park, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 19-5 loss against Eatonville on the 17th.
