Volleyball Recap: Windermere Prep Comes Up Short

Windermere Prep was the 3-0 winner over Cornerstone Charter Academy when they last played one another back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Lakers fell just short of the Ducks by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Lakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Windermere Prep actually scored more points across those five sets (106-100), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 19-25, 16-25, 25-22, 15-11.

Isabella Johnson paced Windermere Prep's offense, picking up 18 kills. Johnson got some help from Aarna Verma and her 21 assists. Amaya Nathaniel controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Windermere Prep's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-10.

Windermere Prep has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against The Master's Academy on the 7th. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, after both having extra time off, they and Faith Christian will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
