It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Queen Creek can now relate to. They fell just short of the Xavier College Prep Gators by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their 17-game winning streak.

Aubrey Chavez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

Queen Creek's loss dropped their record down to 26-6. As for Xavier College Prep, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-5-4.

Xavier College Prep wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-2 defeat against O'Connor on the 14th. Hopefully Queen Creek paid attention to the Gators' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Gators at 8:00 p.m. on the 19th.
