Softball Recap: Gladwin Takes a Loss

Gladwin fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Farwell on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 12-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Flying G's have suffered against the Eagles since May 20, 2019.

Gracyin Guoan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season. Zoey Roberts was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Gladwin has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Farwell, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gladwin will face off against Oxford at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Farwell, they will square off against Harrison at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
