Basketball Recap: Delta Takes a Loss

Delta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 94-31 loss at the hands of the Westlake Charter Explorers .

When it comes to explaining why Delta lost, don't look at Lucas Keller. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 10 on his way to 22 points. The match was Keller's sixth in a row with at least ten points.

Jarriel Taylor went supernova for Westlake Charter, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 18 boards. With that strong performance, Taylor is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Daison Bailey, who posted eight points and four steals.

Delta's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Westlake Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Delta will challenge Elite at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Elite's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Delta's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Westlake Charter, they will take on Esparto at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Esparto: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Westlake Charter has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
