Thurston waltzed into their matchup  on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Churchill Lancers by a score of  27-16. This was payback for the Colts, who suffered  a  32-13  defeat the last time these two teams met.
It was another big night for  Justin Fisher, who rushed for 120 yards.
 On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Thurston's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess:  Parker Edwards,  Leofatu Filipe,  and  Jordan Barr, who each picked up one  sack apiece. Thurston's record now sits at 7-1. As for Churchill, they suffered their first home  loss, dropping their record down to 4-3.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming  contests. Thurston will square off against North Eugene at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Churchill, they will take on South Eugene at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Lancers will be up against the Axe's rather soft defense (which has allowed 43.67  points per  game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
